Your Role

As a Chef, your role is to ensure that your Kitchen is well-equipped, well-staffed and functional. Your job includes the supply of the necessary kitchen materials/equipment and the checking of stocks in collaboration with the F&B Manager, based on the menu and the recipes used. Your role also includes the selection and training of human resources for the kitchen department and the daily supervision of all tasks, the provision of detailed information to service workers regarding the dishes, their ingredients and methods of serving, the customized modification of the menu in order to avoid e.g. allergies, etc.

Moreover, you conduct continuous quality checks (also checking the appearance of dishes before they are served). You naturally ensure that health protocols as well as the hotel regulations are strictly observed by all those working in the Kitchen. If requested, you make creative suggestions for new dishes or for a complete change of the menu. You work closely with the Catering and Customer Service Department and/or the Captain, Maitre d’Hotel, F&B Manager, Warehouse Manager, Sommelier, as well as the Management.

Professional qualifications & special skills

  • Culinary degree 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a 5-star hotel or in a well-known restaurant
  • Excellent oral and written command of English and Greek. Do you know a second foreign language? This is a plus!
  • Advanced knowledge of cooking, baking and pastry techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • Well-organized work and a constantly alert mentality
